Outcry has occurred and there is now hatred towards this girl because she was honest in opinion.  Gay Marriage is an extremely controversial topic and many people believe marriage for should only be between a man and a woman, myself included.  Whilst we have civil unions in this country which I have no issue with, I personally do not view this as marriage. 

I think Carrie has been used as an easy target and I commend her for defending her comments and for being honest,  goodness knows it was better than her somehow spinning that gay marriage would help to create world peace simply because it wouldn’t.

So yesterday after having spent all day home doing housewifey things and fluffing about I was taken to a lovely dinner at Shed 5 on the waterfront followed by cocktails at motel and then home.  I got to get dressed up, do my hair nice and my makeup nice and be spoilt which I truly think every girl enjoys.

Today has been also enjoyable, I got an awesome new vacuum and had coffee with a good friend this afternoon.  It has been the first weekend I have had free for ages, and whilst it is nice to be busy and be hosting or hosted by other people, it was so nice to have just relaxed, actually relaxed. 

Furthermore, I think the cat has enjoyed having company.

I think the awareness she has bought to cervical cancer is great yet as someone who lost a parent at a young age I would have hated having images of them dying spread across the papers and tv screens and then on their death having it on every channel, paper and radio station across the nation and even throughout the world.

I pray for her family and friends at this time, but hopefully now as she rests in peace, she will also quietly slip away from the media headlines.

This will be a mix of personal, political and other posts.  Just somewhere to gather my thoughts and vent.
